Mini Book

Hi there, well another long gap inbetween posts. There doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day to fit everything in.

I have had a little international browse of SU blogs and came across this little project on a European blog. Wish I could take the credit for the idea but I can't :-)

Big Shot Die: Scallop Envelope
Big Shot Embossing Folder: Vintage Wallpaper
Stamp Set: Strength and Hope, Itty Bitty Bits
DSP: Vintage Springtime
Card Stock: Crumb Cake, Pretty In Pink, Very Vanilla
Ink: Sahara Sand, Blushing Bride, Rose Red
Punches: Word Window, Designer Label Large, Itty Bitty Shapes
Silver Elastic Cord
Big Designer Buttons
Basic Pearls

There is a lot of elements to it, but it got me rummaging through my SU stuff for the afternoon. Also I have been busy with a big project, but I can't share with you until after Wednesday. It is something I haven't done before!!

Hope you are all well and enjoying the bank holiday weekend. Hope the weather picks up.

Thanks for stopping by

Blushing Bride and Big Shot

Finally I have got round to using the Top Note die for the Big Shot! It has been unwrapped for weeks - sacrilege I know :-)

Several elements have been used to create today's card: 2 dies; 1 embossing folder; 2 punches and 2 stamp sets. Sounds complicated, but was really really simple to do.

The envelope is fastened down with a little bit of velcro and finished with a basic pearl.

Inside the scallop envelope I stamped a little card with the flower from Razzle Dazzle and the Fabulous Friend sentiment from Oval all. To make it easier to get out of the envelope I attached a little ribbon hoop.

Finally inside finished with the flower.

Card Stock: Blushing Bride and Very Vanilla
Ink: Blushing Bride
Stamp Sets: Oval All and Razzle Dazzle
Paper: DSP Springtime Vintage
Bigz Dies: Scallop Envelope and Top Note (both exclusive to SU)
Embossing Folder: Square Lattice (exclusive to SU)
Punches: Scallop Oval and Oval Large
Ribbon: Pretty in Pink Taffeta Ribbon

I have really enjoyed making this card. Hope you have enjoyed viewing it.

It's been a while.....

since I last posted, hope you are well. It has been a hectic few weeks. Work is really busy, I'm trying very hard to catch up with my management coursework and we have had a family wedding too.

Crafting has taken a back seat for a while, but I have had a visit today from a really lovely girl and her mum to look at some ideas for wedding invitations, so it has given me the inspiration to get going again.

I haven't got any craft photos today but thought I would share some pictures from the wedding. Leanne was a bridesmaid and Chris was the official Camcorder person (not sure what you would call them!) It was lovely that my nephew asked him to film the service as it meant he wasn't left out. The day was beautiful and very emotional. Jess and Antony make a genuinely lovely couple.

Going to hop round blogland now to see what you have all been up to.

Simply Stampin Challenge #5

Morning, the sun is shining again but the wind is very cold. We had a family bbq yesterday and whilst it was great, I was freezing!! Roll on the summer.

This weeks challenge over at Simply Stampin Challenge is all about colour.

I chose a very clean layout, using Whisper White as the focus. Adding Rich Razzleberry was a indeed a challenge, I tried mat & layering; ribbon; card base; in the end I settle on the sentiment being stamped in this colour.

Always Artichoke is used, but for some reason is looking quite grey on the images. I love the texture the embossing folder gives, it creates a fab base.

Hope you have enjoyed this weeks card.

It is back to school and back to work for me next week after 11 days off. Will be quite an adjustment, but only a 4 day week to ease me back in.

Have a fab Sunday and thanks for stopping by.

Baby Door Hanger

Good morning, how is everyone? Hope you are all well.

I'm over the moon this morning, I have logged on to find out that I was one of the Top 3 in last weeks Simply Stampin Challenge!! It was my first ever entry into any craft challenge, so I am very pleased!

I can't wait to get started on this week's challenge :-)

Esther's mummy has emailed me some photographs to start a Scrapbook album for her. When I saw this picture I knew straightaway what I wanted to do with it. I had seen this design on Julie's blog and thought it was perfect for this little pic.

I did start to sponge the letters in Blushing Bride, but it was a little too light, so changed it for Regal Rose. The letters had Crystal Effects applied along with a sprinkling of glitter. I do like the finish it gives.

DSP: Nursery Suite
Stamp Set: Bundle of Love
Ink: Blushing Bride and Regal Rose
Card Stock: Blushing Bride

Leanne has become an avid Scrapbooker, I can't seem to slow her down at the minute. Fortunately, one of my very first purchases from one of the shopping channels, was tonnes of 12x12 papers, so my SU stash is safe for now!

I have all the family coming up later today for a BBQ, so I'm off to get ready and make sure I have enough food.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

Scrapbook with Big Shot

Good morning and what an exciting one it is!! I am watching the arrival of the guests at the Royal Wedding whilst blogging and admiring all the outfits and hats. I have to say Mr Beckham is looking rather dapper. I can't wait to see Catherine's dress - I do enjoy weddings :-)

I did promise to show my 2nd scrapbook page a few days ago, but decided to wait as there was a very special parcel on its way to me. The main content was the Big Shot!!

The little cutie on this page is Esther, my Great Niece, who I had the pleasure of looking after yesterday whilst her mummy had some well deserved time for herself. The choice of colour combination was easy - I simply took inspiration from the dress that she is wearing.

The flowers are created using the Flowers / Daisies #2, Bigz Die, and the Big Shot.

If you would like to create these lovely flowers and many, many other embellishments for your creations, then why not get your own Big Shot?? Contact me for more information and I will put together a special offer just for you.

Well I hope you have a fabulous day - whatever your plans are for the Royal Wedding.

Thanks for stopping by

Scrapbook Page

You can tell its the Bank Holiday - I have time to craft and post in the same day!! The sun is shining still, but every now and again it keeps going a little overcast. Hope its sunny where you are.

I was inspired to do a scrapbook page (in fact I have done 2 - will share another one tomorrow). This is probably my favourite family pic. It was taken in 2007 when we went to Altinkum in Turkey. Chris and Leanne look so young!!!

I have used 2 new products for me - Chipboard (thanks to Julie's training day) and Crystal Effects. I have had the Crystal effects for sometime, but never got round to using it. Before it dried I sprinkled some glitter sparingly onto it.

Little disappointed with the journalling and I should have lined up the lettering before I got to the very end and realised the Y was going to be a bit off, but it will come with practice.

Now I have something very different to show you!! (apologies to my Facebook friends, they will be fed up of seeing these by now!) I am off to a wedding in 3 weeks time and have been looking for a pair of perfect red shoes. And here they are!! Just fabulous - I think I'm in shoe heaven :-)

Hope you are having a great extended weekend and thanks for stopping by.
