Baby Door Hanger

Good morning, how is everyone? Hope you are all well.

I'm over the moon this morning, I have logged on to find out that I was one of the Top 3 in last weeks Simply Stampin Challenge!! It was my first ever entry into any craft challenge, so I am very pleased!

I can't wait to get started on this week's challenge :-)

Esther's mummy has emailed me some photographs to start a Scrapbook album for her. When I saw this picture I knew straightaway what I wanted to do with it. I had seen this design on Julie's blog and thought it was perfect for this little pic.

I did start to sponge the letters in Blushing Bride, but it was a little too light, so changed it for Regal Rose. The letters had Crystal Effects applied along with a sprinkling of glitter. I do like the finish it gives.

DSP: Nursery Suite
Stamp Set: Bundle of Love
Ink: Blushing Bride and Regal Rose
Card Stock: Blushing Bride

Leanne has become an avid Scrapbooker, I can't seem to slow her down at the minute. Fortunately, one of my very first purchases from one of the shopping channels, was tonnes of 12x12 papers, so my SU stash is safe for now!

I have all the family coming up later today for a BBQ, so I'm off to get ready and make sure I have enough food.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

Scrapbook with Big Shot

Good morning and what an exciting one it is!! I am watching the arrival of the guests at the Royal Wedding whilst blogging and admiring all the outfits and hats. I have to say Mr Beckham is looking rather dapper. I can't wait to see Catherine's dress - I do enjoy weddings :-)

I did promise to show my 2nd scrapbook page a few days ago, but decided to wait as there was a very special parcel on its way to me. The main content was the Big Shot!!

The little cutie on this page is Esther, my Great Niece, who I had the pleasure of looking after yesterday whilst her mummy had some well deserved time for herself. The choice of colour combination was easy - I simply took inspiration from the dress that she is wearing.

The flowers are created using the Flowers / Daisies #2, Bigz Die, and the Big Shot.

If you would like to create these lovely flowers and many, many other embellishments for your creations, then why not get your own Big Shot?? Contact me for more information and I will put together a special offer just for you.

Well I hope you have a fabulous day - whatever your plans are for the Royal Wedding.

Thanks for stopping by

Scrapbook Page

You can tell its the Bank Holiday - I have time to craft and post in the same day!! The sun is shining still, but every now and again it keeps going a little overcast. Hope its sunny where you are.

I was inspired to do a scrapbook page (in fact I have done 2 - will share another one tomorrow). This is probably my favourite family pic. It was taken in 2007 when we went to Altinkum in Turkey. Chris and Leanne look so young!!!

I have used 2 new products for me - Chipboard (thanks to Julie's training day) and Crystal Effects. I have had the Crystal effects for sometime, but never got round to using it. Before it dried I sprinkled some glitter sparingly onto it.

Little disappointed with the journalling and I should have lined up the lettering before I got to the very end and realised the Y was going to be a bit off, but it will come with practice.

Now I have something very different to show you!! (apologies to my Facebook friends, they will be fed up of seeing these by now!) I am off to a wedding in 3 weeks time and have been looking for a pair of perfect red shoes. And here they are!! Just fabulous - I think I'm in shoe heaven :-)

Hope you are having a great extended weekend and thanks for stopping by.

Itty Bitty Bits

Another week day post.... this is becoming a habit, one that I enjoy :-) Hope you are all well.

Tonight's card is one I made for the very lovely Lynda, who has recently passed her Medical Secretary exams. I am so pleased for her as I know how much hard work goes in, especially on top of a job, home and of course our Stampin Up hobby.

Congrats Lynda xxx

Even decorated the inside of the card

Just look how teeny this punches are compared to the Boho Blossoms punch.... I think they are just fab and cute.

The stamp set and 3 Itty Bitty punches make a fab gift. So if anyone is stuck for an alternative Easter present, then why not go for this cute set? I will even gift wrap and free delivery any order placed by Monday.

I have a big night out planned tomorrow and am staying over at my wonderful friends house, so really quite excited. I might not be back until Sunday.... So if not, have a fab weekend.

Thanks for stopping by

Big Shot

A weekday post is a rarity from me these days.... but here one is :-)

At Jules' training day on Saturday we got to use the Big Shot. Whilst not a new concept, it is new to Stampin Up and there are some exclusive dies and embossing folders just for the catalogue.

These are the cards that we made with different dies and embossing folders and shows how versatile they can be.

Finally I have to show you my ..... I mean Leanne's...... craft project from yesterday! Last year we had Eggward (Jedward)..... This year we have Dr Who and Amy Pond in the Tardis :-)

Still got the swaps from the training day to show you, so don't forget to come back tomorrow (my challenge is to not forget to post them!).

Thanks for stopping by.

Jem's Training Day 9.4.11

Another week has flown by and it has seriously been in lacking in posts from me!! I know Barbara will be pleased a post has appeared :-)

Today was spent in Pudsey with my SU mum Jules and of course all my SU sisters. I always look forward to it (and not just for the cupcakes - but they were yummy), there are fantastic swaps, great friends to catch up with, new Jems to meet and amazing projects to make!

Let's not forget the raffle prizes - I won a scrapbook, 12x12 textured card AND a reel of Ribbon

The main feature of the day was the Big Shot. I have an embossing machine, but have to say I have been won over by this machine. I love its versatility. We made a scrapbook page and 5 cards all featuring dies and embossing folders.

Jules asked us to bring along a photo and had posted the page layout using a photo of Grandma. When Grandad passed away Mum got some of the family photos. I selected some of Grandma and Grandad, but suddenly changed my mind when I saw this picture of Mum. It is stunning, she thinks she was mid 20s when it was taken.

I tried to keep it quite simple, as I think it would have distracted from the photo.

The flowers are made using one of the dies and then embossed. The fibres in the paper change dramatically once they are embossed, they feel like fabric.

Tomorrow I will post the cards that we made.

I couldn't leave today without this photo of Jeanette receiving her lesson from Jules!

Fab day - if anyone would like to join our team, then don't hesitate, get in touch and be part of the family.

I couldn't resist taking these photos whilst we had some glorious sunshine yesterday to show off the gorgeous DSP and ribbons. I just can't get enough of them :-)

Despite it being Mother's Day, I'm off back to the opticians today. I went on Friday and they need me to go back today for a dilation test. I have had in the past a few holes in my retina (all treatable) and, whilst he assured me he hadn't spotted some more, he wants to have a closer look.

The good thing is that the optician is in Meadowhall - I think I will get there early so I can have a browse round the shops before he puts the drops in and my vision goes all blurry.

Have a fab, fab day.

Thanks for stopping by.
