Becki's Crafting Corner

I know 2 posts in one day, when I haven't even managed 2 posts in one week recently :-)

Thought I would share a quick post to show you what I have been up to today. My little craft corner in the bedroom has had a bit of a make over. I was too embarrassed to show you the before picture! A couple of shelves have made all the difference.

I can now see all my lovely stamp sets, instead of ferreting around in bags and boxes for them. I have also got the new style punches on the shelf, the remainder are in a container to the left of the desk. The bedside drawers make a wonderful 12x12 storage area.

The eagle eyed amongst you may spot the projects and some bits from yesterday's training.

The pencil holder has had a glam make over - I added the wonderful decoration from my gorgeous birthday cake that Jeannie made for me.

My OH does fear that the entire bedroom will become a craft room...... now there's a thought......... :-)

Inspired by the clean desk I made a very quick and easy card:-

Card Stock: Basic Black, Melon Mambo & Whisper White
Ink: Melon Mambo & Basic Black
Stamp Set: Sweet Summer & Oval All
Punches: Scallop Trim, Scallop Oval & Large Oval
Finished off with a tiny bit of bling - adhesive rhinestones

A well deserved cuppa is in order now :-)

Training Day - 29/1/11

Morning, where has the week gone?? I was going to say I can't believe I haven't blogged for such a long time, but because of how busy life is at the minute I can believe that my blogging has slipped a little!! Hope you can forgive me?

Yesterday I went to Jules' first Quarterly training event for all the Jems. It was a great day and it was also lovely to meet ladies who I have followed on the blogs and also the new members of the team.

This is the first time for me at an event like this. There was a card swap and a card candy swap. As I have never done card candy before, I decided not to take part in this one, but I did partake in card swap. The theme was Love - well Valentines is just round the corner.

Here's my swap:-

Card Stock: Concord Crush & Whisper White
Ink: Early Espresso & Real Red
Stamp Sets: Bliss and So Happy for You
Punch: Scallop Trim Corner
Stamp Write Marker: Crumb Cake (used with the Spritzer tool - this may feature a lot now)
Adhesive Rhinestones

And here are all the lovely ones I got in return. Aren't they fab?

I shall be back tomorrow with the projects that we did.

Have a great Sunday and thanks for stopping by.

Punch Bunch

Morning, dare I say that I am starting to feel a little better? Well I shall :-) The cough hasn't gone and it is very annoying, but overall I feel much better in myself. My promise is that I shall moan less and craft more over the coming weeks.

I thought I would share a very quick card that Julie demo'd at our training, with my own colour variation. Such an easy card for workshops.

Card Stock: Pacific Point & Whisper White
Stamp Set: Punch Bunch
Paper: Brights DSP Stack
Punch: Scallop Circle
Stamp Write Markers: Pacific Point, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight

Does anyone have any good suggestions for storing all my gorgeous SU stash? There are some fab craft rooms out there, but unfortunately I only have a corner of my bedroom - although I keep bringing most of it downstairs again and take over the dining room table. I have told my son that his room will become my craft room once he leaves for Uni !!

I'd love to hear your crafty storage ideas.

Thanks for stopping by.

Celebrations DSP

Hi there. A quick post tonight as I'm still not fighting fit yet. Earlier this week the UPS man brought me my lovely treats and I have managed tonight to play about with some newbies.

I decided on something a little different and sponged some ink over a punched out star. This is the result.

Recognise the bunting? It is actually the stars used as a template on the first card and cut out. Nothing ever goes to waste :-)

Card Stock: Whisper White & Pacific Point
Ink: Real Red, Pacific Point & Whisper White
Paper: Celebrations DSP
Stamp Sets: Punch Bunch & So Happy for You

Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic weekend.

Sweet Summer

Hi everyone, how are you doing? The dreaded chest infection is taking some shifting, hence the lack of posts. To cheer myself up at the weekend I put in a little order (well maybe not so little as I got 3 Sale-A-Bration Sets!!)

A bit of splash of summer colour was in order, as I'm looking forward to some sunny summer evenings, sat out with a glass of something cold, enjoying time with the family.

Stamp Set: Sweet Summer and So Happy for You
Card Stock: Whisper White, Daffodil Delight
Ink: Various

Now look what I treated myself to. I used these fab markers to colour in the card above. Some colours I haven't used before (Riding Hood Red and More Mustard), hence the more subdued butterfly. Why not take advantage of the pen share that I have on offer at the mo? It's a great way to get all the colours but spread the cost.

I didn't think I would have much to blog about tonight and nearly forgot to mention two wonderful things.

No 1 - on Monday night I went to see the Strictly Live Tour at Sheffield Arena. It was Fab-u-lous Dahling!! Had a great night and my SU mum Jules was in the audience too. I dream of being able to dance, but as my tap shoes will tell you - I have two left feet :-)

No 2 - we got meet the newest member to the family, baby Owen Tyler. Here he is with my two babies. Don't they grow up so fast? Chris has even been to look at University last week - now that is a milestone I didn't want to come for a very long time!!

I think it's now time for my medication then bed - good job it isn't web chat as I'm not looking at my best at the minute with my red nose and wrapped up in a big comfy cardigan! On that delightful note, I shall bid you goodnight.

In Colours - Pear Pizzaz & Concord Crush

Hi there, hope you are all well. Sorry for the lack of posts recently, but I have seem to have caught the bug that is going around and haven't been myself for a few days.

Unfortunately, I had to cancel my Open House planned for today, I want my customers to come away with goodies, not a chest infection!!

I will be attending my first all day training with the lovely Jules and my SU sisters in a couple of weeks and we will be doing swaps. This is a first for me, so have been playing about with my stamp sets to see if I can come up with something original.

Whilst playing around with the In Colours, I decided to get out an old favourite - Vintage Vogue. Here's my little creation, a small easel card.

Card Stock: Pear Pizzaz, Concord Crush
Ink: Concord Crush, Old Olive (stamped off)
Stamp Set: Punch Bunch, Vintage Vogue
Paper: Hostess Level 1 In Colour Designer Paper Series
Punch: Scallop Trim Border, 1" Circle
Adhesive Rhinestones

Not much happening today, apart from taking it easy. I have to be fit for Monday - I'm off with 7 friends to see Strictly at the Sheffield Arena. So it is complete rest until then :-D

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by.

Blueberry Crisp Class

Morning. Finally we got our landline and internet connection back on Monday. We only had two days without it, but it was as though we were cut off from the world! What did we do before technology??

On Saturday I had a lovely class with my fabulous ladies and some new faces. Hello to Sharon and Katy. Katy is only 11 and already a great crafter. So not only did I get to meet two new crafters but I also got to meet Julie, a fellow Jem. Julie mentioned her hubby was travelling up to Doncaster for the football, so I took the opportunity to invite Julie to my class. It was fantastic to meet and we had a great day. Our daughters are the same age and they had their own little table for crafting. They even did the washing up after tea break :-) Great friendships made all round.

Here are the pics of the project we did.

This is Katy's creation

Hard at work :-)

I also have to show you the wonderful gifts Julie brought for me and Leanne. Well I can show you my presents, Leanne's was opened in seconds of receiving it! Thank you Julie x

Another peice of good news to end on - baby Owen Tyler arrived yesterday. What a day to be born on 11.1.11. Lots of love to Jess, Antony & Mia, who is now a big sister.

Thanks for stopping by.

Punch Bunch

Hi there, hope you are all well.

Last night was monthly training at Jules' house and we got to make two fab cards using Punch Bunch. It's always good to catch up and meet other demonstrators. I got chatting to Kate for the first time and we all had a good laugh, which was well needed for me. Can't wait for the all day training on the 29th plus for Karen to get her blog going!

My nephew and his partner are expecting a little boy any day now, in fact he is 6 days late! I had already made up a new baby boy card a while ago, but seeing as though he is a Sheffield Wednesday fan I couldn't resist making a different one using the cute owl from
SAB Punch Bunch.

Stamp Set: Punch Bunch
Ink: Baja Breeze
Card Stock: Baja Breeze and Whisper White
Brights Designer Papers
Ribbon: 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon Marina Mist

I haven't yet got the punch to go with the label so I did a bit of freehand cutting. I know Kate is really good at cutting out ;-) The sentiments inside the card are from my own stash and the circle and scallop circle are made with the cuttlebug.

Today we said our final farewells to Granddad. It was a beautiful service, a celebration of his life and goodness did he pack a lot into his 89 years. I did a reading in Church, something I have never done before and whilst it was difficult, as it was emotional, I am really pleased I did it. Goodnight, God Bless Granddad xxxx

A bit more Bliss

Hi everyone. I have been wondering today how many people have made New Year Resolutions and are actually sticking to them??

Mine was to reduce my bread intake - I have done really well today, no bread at all. Don't think the potatoes, guacamole, and chocolate have done anything to help me lose weight though :-o

I had a little look through everyone's blogs and have been inspired again by Julie to use Red, Black and White. It was a fav combo last year.

Not a great pic, but you get the idea.

Stamp Set: Bliss, Trendy Trees
Ink: Basic Black, Real Red
Card Stock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Poppy Parade
Punch: Scallop Trim Corner

Why is that when you want something it is never to hand? I couldn't find my SU adhesive rhinestones so used a red one from my own stash.

Back to work tomorrow, although I did work in between Xmas and New Year, it really does feel that the holidays have come to an end now. Roll February Half Term :-)

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy New Year.....

....to everyone. Here's to a happy and healthy 2011.

I have to say a couple of thank yous to start with. Firstly, thank you for all my birthday cards and Christmas cards, they did come through eventually after all the recent snow - they are gorgeous. Secondly, thanks go to my lovely ladies who come to my classes and to those that support my new venture. Finally, I have to say thanks to you dear readers for taking the time to stop by and leave me lovely, supportive comments.

Sale-A-Bration is just a fantastic time for stampers as it means Free stamps sets for every purchase over £45. My SU Mum Jules will remember this time last year when I attended my very first SU Workshop at Elaine's house and got my hands on a free stamp set. The rest, as they say, is history :-)

Here are the stamp sets, if you haven't already viewed them by the link:-

Punch Bunch - can't wait to get going with this little owl and there will be a punch coming out later in the year to go with him
Bliss - so elegant, I love this set
Not sure why this pic has come out so small! Sweet Summer

Last, but by no means least, So Happy for You

Today's card is a design (with a little adaption of colour) by Jenny over at Stamping Moments. Pop over and see Jenny's fantastic creations.

The reason for the lack of my own creativity is that Granddad sadly passed away last week. My inspiration will be to live life to the full, just like Granddad did in his 89 years. This picture was taken a couple of years ago when he became Great Great Granddad, creating 5 generations in our family.

Whenever Granddad parted company he never ever said goodbye, simply "have a nice day". On that note, I hope you do too.
